Itinerary of this Greater Kruger Park Safari
Day 1: Arrival at the Game Lodge in Balule Game Reserve
Clients can be collected from all hotels and guesthouses in Joahnnesburg as well as from Johannesburg Airport in the early morning at the latest 9:30am. Clients can be picked up any time of day from Hoedspruit airport (which is closest to the lodge) and between 13h00 and 14h00 at Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA).
We travel via farmlands to the picturesque Lowveld and on to Kruger Park safari Affordable Game Lodge in the Balule Section of the Kruger Park.
After a short break, during which you may unwind at the bar, have a swim or relax in the tropical gardens, we board the open Landcruiser for a 3 hour Sunset Drive and Night Drive. Your guide will show you various animals and birds and after darkness falls, we use spotlights to locate nocturnal species. Dinner will be an unforgettable Bush Braai at our Marula Tree Boma.
After dinner continue the Night Drive and overnight in comfortable air-conditioned en suite thatch-roofed chalets.
Day 2 & 3: Full day in Balule Game Reserve within Greater Kruger National Park
Awaken at sunrise for an exhilarating day of unforgettable bush life. Drive to a remote part of the Balule Game Reserve, where you enjoy a 4 hour Bush Walk. Your experienced field guide will lead you through the bush.
The thrill of following Africa’s big 5 until you can take a exhilarating close-up photo of a wild animal, will remain with you forever. Adrenalin surges will be acute, notwithstanding the presence of your armed ranger.
Return to Affordable Game Lodge for brunch. At around 15h00 we go on an afternoon game drive.
You are then transferred to the Treehouse Lodge where accommodation is in fascinating and romantic tree houses!
Day 4: Full Day Kruger Park Game Drive
After a relaxing night at the Treehouse Lodge we travel to the Kruger National Park where we board our open Game viewer. The absence of windows and elevated vantage position allow for excellent photographic opportunities.
You will have an amazing chance not only to view beautiful African wildlife, but also to listen to the African bush and its denizens and smell the clean air of nature. There will be regular stops at picnic spots and rest camps. Your experienced ranger will show you the many hideouts and habitats of the animals, birds and insects that live within this wildlife paradise.
The Orpen/Satara region boasts open plains and supports large herds of zebra, giraffe and antelope that attract numerous predators.
In fact the zones we visit have the highest concentration of lions in Africa!

On our safaris, we make use of facilities and accommodation situated inside the Kruger National Park and do not stay outside the Kruger, unless forced to do so because of availability.
We supply a permanent camp in Bahule Game Reserve, which is also where our open game drive vehicles are based. Safaris with accommodation in multiple rest camps are available on request.
It is important to note that this is not a private safari and more than likely there will be other guests joining you on the game drive vehicles, air-conditioned mini bus transfer vehicles as well as in the dining facility.
Although we welcome children on our safaris, we reserve the right not to allow younger children on our normal game drives. This will be entirely up to the guide’s discretion and will be in order to ensure a pleasurable game drive for all our guests (including the parents). Should this be the case, a bush bumble (kiddies game drive) will be conducted after the normal game drive, especially for the kids. We do not offer babysitting, but we can make an arrangement during the booking process. Private game drives for families can be arranged at an extra charge.
Guests flying out of OR Tambo Airport on the last day are reminded to not book any flights earlier than 19h00 (domestic) or 20h00 (international) in order to give us enough time to get you to the airport. We recommend that you rather stay over in Johannesburg if possible. Since we cannot guarantee our arrival time in Johannesburg on the last day we will not be held responsible for reimbursements of flight tickets, should we arrive later than expected. Guests flying out of Nelspruit on the last day may, depending on their flight details, not have enough time to see the Panorama Route. Private transfers for guests with early flights can be arranged in advance at an extra charge.
