Our Garden Route, Cape Town Safari and Addo Elephant Park allows guests to explore the Southern and Western Cape. The South African Garden Route is home to both marine & land habitats with many National Parks protecting this rich fauna & flora which is only found in the Garden Route area. From the late 1600’s to modern day, people have always been captivated by beauty and mystery of the Cape, diverse culture and the breathtaking scenery from Table Mountain, the rolling grasslands, Winelands and wide spread conservation areas. Being a malaria free area, the area is an ideal way for families with to see South African Wildlife. Some places included in the diverse itinerary of this tour includes the Hottentots Holland, Outeniqua Mountains, Cape Augulas and Cape Town.

The unique fynbos area includes some African Wildlife species which are rare and only found here, including the Big 5 and so much more! The area the this Cape Town Safari covers is quite diverse in climate, vegetation and wildlife. Including the coastal line of South Africa as well as the semi-desert Little Karoo. Abundant birdlife, marine life (such as Blue whales, who come to our shores to breed, fur seals, African penguins & Great White Sharks) are to be seen on this Safari.

Parks we visit include the Agulhas National Park, Tsitsikamma National Park and the Addo Elephant National Park. The coastline along the Garden Route has a Mediterranean type climate with conditions similar to Cape Town but with rain faling throughout the year so it is very wet and green with winter rainfall.

Cape Town Safari Accommodation

Transfers from and to the airport as well as to and from National Parks is in a 14 seat bus. Vehicles are equipped to provide guests with highest possible levels of safety, comfort and experience.

Cape Town Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Cape Town – Hermanus-Cape Agulhas

Your Cape Town safari depart from Stellenbosch to Hermanus on Monday morning. The guest that will be doing the shark cage diving will be picked up extremely early by the diving operators and will be missing the first half of the day. The journey takes us through the coastal road, we will be stopping at Betties Bay to observe the endangered colony of African penguins. You will have the opportunity to experience the seaside resort town of Hermanus. Hermanus will make your Cape Town safari unforgettable with its shops, restaurant, markets and most important the famous Southern Whales during the whale season. The last stop for the day on your Cape Town safari will be Cape Agulhas, the most southern tip of Africa. At Cape Agulhas you will be visiting a viewpoint where the Indian and the Atlantic Oceans meet.

Day 2: Cape Agulhas – Oudtshoorn

Today your Cape Town safari will be taking you to the Ostrich Capital of the world, Oudtshoorn in the little Karoo. We will take route 62 with its beautiful scenic sightings to our location. You will stop for lunch and wine tasting at a local winery before enjoying the Cango Caves on a guided adventure.

Day 3: Oudtshoorn – Knysna – Sedgefield

After enjoying a lovely breakfast, you will be traveling over the Outeniqua Mountains pass. You will experience the beauty of the wildlife as you explore Wilderness National Park in canoes. Enjoy the breath-taking view of birdlife and indigenous trees as you paddle down the Touw River, then you will do a 2km hike where you will discover waterfalls and rock pools. Knysna is the next stop on your 3rd day of the Cape Town safari. Here you will have the chance to enjoy the little town’s shops, cutios and waterfront where you will be able to do some shopping. You will then travel to Knysna Heads viewpoint to see the Knysna river and the Indian Ocean. Later in the afternoon you will be able to explore Sedgefield with its spectacular beaches and views.

Day 4: Sedgefield – Tsitsikamma – Addo

We will head to Tsitsikamma National Park after breakfast. On the way you will be stopping at the Bloukrans Bridge to see the world’s highest bungee. If you are one of those daredevils that would like to take on this adventure there will be plenty of time. After you have tested your courage you will be traveling to Tsitikamma National Park, the park contains an individual blend of indigenous forest and beautiful Indian Ocean coastline. Tsitsikamma National Park provides a wide range of activities, including hiking, crossing suspension bridge and swimming. Your Cape Town safari will then take you to Addo and leave the Garden Route behind later the afternoon.

Day 5: Addo – Wilderness

You will be spending your morning exploring Addo Elephant National Park. You will be exploring the beautiful reserve that house 600 Elephant, lions and many more animals for 2-3 house. After a fun packed morning you will be traveling to the heart of the Garden Route and overnight and have sundowners overlooking the Wilderness Beach.

You will hike the Cape St. Blaizer trail overlooking the beautiful Indian Ocean as well as visit the popular Daiz Museum complex, you are welcome to skydive 10, 000 foot or sandboard on the longest dune in South Africa. You will be in Cape Town in the early evening.
