Itinerary for staying in a game reserve
Day 1: From Johannesburg to the Luxury Private Game Reserve
You will start your Safari any time between 06h30 to 08h00 when you will be picked up. The scenic route descends from the Highveld which start at eMalahleni to the Lowveld with spectacular views of the Drakensberg Mountains in the distance. Do not miss any opportunity to capture the memories on this route.
You will enjoy lunch at your own expense on route.
You will be mesmerized not only by the beauty of the landscape but also when entering the Private Luxury Game Reserve. After the long drive you will be warmly welcomed by the game reserve staff and be able to settle and familiarize yourself with your room and surroundings.
The excitement starts when you climb onto the 4 x vehicle for your first game drive and the ranger explains the rules of game viewing from an open safari vehicle. The game drive will take around 3-4 hours. You will be decadently spoiled with the finest private African Wildlife Safari offerings, specifically the Big 5.
Dining will be in true African Safari luxury style. Cuisine at a Private Game Reserve is more than just a meal – it is an African Cultural experience of perfect indulgence. These game reserves also cater for all dietary requirements on request.
Day 2 and 3: Private Game Reserve in the Greater Kruger National Park area
The day starts with an early wake-up call between 5h00 and 5h30. Tea, coffee and rusks are enjoyed before leaving at first light. While seeing big game is always breathtakingly impressive, there are many other species as well as birds. Halfway through the game drive, there’s a stop for hot drinks and snacks, before returning to the lodge at around 9am for a full breakfast.
Throughout the day, it’s likely you will see wildlife around the game reserve – nyala antelope and vervet monkeys are frequent visitors, though seeing some of the Big Five is also not uncommon. The rest of the day is spent at leisure, relaxing in your room or at the pool. You could also opt for an experience an African Spa Treatment; imagine doing this while viewing Elephants at a a distance.
Twice-daily game drives through the game reserve, accompanied by expert guides and trackers, ensure unforgettable Wildlife encounters in the African bush. They will share their extensive knowledge and passion of African Wildlife with you.
Lunch is served around 14h00.
The afternoon drive often extends into the early hours of the evening and you will be spoiled when stopping to enjoy some sun-downer refreshments. Your guide will assist with a spotlight so that you may view the African Wildlife during the night activities.
Meals are an extraordinary culinary experience where Traditional African Cuisine fuse effortlessly with Modern Trends. Vegetarians also are specially catered for.

Day 4: Private Game Reserve – Johannesburg
After an early wake up bush game drive and breakfast you will start your journey back to Johannesburg. The majority of lodges also offer bush walks after breakfast and guests are welcome to join.
Lunch will be enjoyed on route at your own expense.
We strongly advice that you sleep over in Johannesburg on this evening to avoid the disappointment of missing a too early booked flight.

It is important to note that this is not a private safari and more than likely there will be other guests joining you on the game drive vehicles, air-conditioned mini bus transfer vehicles as well as in the dining facility.
The child policies vary from lodge to lodge. Some lodges do not accept children under 12 at all, while others gladly accept children but do not allow younger children on the open game drive vehicles for safety reasons. These lodges offer babysitting services at a nominal extra charge. Please be sure to enquire about this before making your reservation.
Guests flying out of OR Tambo Airport on the last day are reminded to not book any flights earlier than 19h00 (domestic) or 20h00 (international) in order to give us enough time to get you to the airport. We recommend that you rather stay over in Johannesburg if possible. Since we cannot guarantee our arrival time in Johannesburg on the last day we will not be held responsible for reimbursements of flight tickets, should we arrive later than expected. Guests flying out of Nelspruit on the last day may, depending on their flight details, not have enough time to see the Panorama Route. Private transfers for guests with early flights can be arranged in advance at an extra charge.
