Staying in a Camping Kruger Park Safari Dome Tent
Travelling in our Vehicles on a Camping Kruger Park Safari
We transport you from Johannesburg and back in safe and luxury mini buses. Open but roofed 4 x 4 Safari vehicles offer the best possible game viewing experience while travelling with us in the Kruger National Park.
Day 1: From Johannesburg to the Kruger National Park
We will pick you up any time between 06h30 to 08h00. It is a 6 hour drive and we will stop for lunch on route. Once out on the open road you will be amazed by the Highveld which starts at Witbank (eMalahleni). The farming and industrial town of Middelburg is in close proximity to eMalahleni. The scenes will become more and more scenic as we approach Nelspruit in the Lowveld.
Once settled into your Dome Tent you will leave on the first thrilling Safari sunset game drive which is facilitated by SANParks. Other quests will join you because this drive is open to all guests at the Kruger Park. This activity leaves before the sun sets and gets back once the sky is dark. Experienced guides drive the groups.
(Children under 6 years of age are not permitted on open vehicle drives)
A three-course meal, wine, camp fire, interesting other quests, African Wildlife stories and the sounds of the night animals will fill your evening before you slip off to dreamland. You can top up your drinks with a wide variety available in the Kruger National Park Shop in Skukuza.
Day 2 & 3: Full day in the Park
In the early morning we will start the day with tea, coffee, muffins and fruit before we leave for the morning game drive which leave at around 04.30 in summer and 05.30 in winter. Experienced guides will inform you throughout the drive about all the animals. The drive will last for 3 to 4 hours and when you return to the park you will be served with brunch.
With a filled stomach you can opt for a siesta, swim, visit to the Skukuza Museum, African Curio Shop, take a walk around the camp, or simply relax on the viewing platform of the restaurant, which overlooks the Sabie River. Bring your binoculars.
The afternoon offers you a game drive with highly experienced guides, giving quests the history and background of the Kruger National Park and detailed information of the animals, trees and plants encountered on the drive. All drives are in specially adapted 4 x 4 open game viewing vehicles to allow the best spotting of animals.
The evening is again ended with a three-course meal, wine, camp fire, interesting other quests, African Wildlife stories and the sounds of the night animals.

Kruger Park Tours Safaris first and foremost utilizes the facilities and accommodation situated inside the Kruger National Park. In rare cases and due to unavailability, Kruger Park Tours is forced to use outside accommodation.
Kruger Park Tours has permanent accommodation in a camp in Skukuza. The open game drive vehicles are based here as well. Multiple rest camps are available on request.
Note this is not a private safari and thus it is very likely that other guests will join you on the game drives, air-conditioned mini bus as well as in the dining facility.
Also, note that the sunset game drive times are conducted by SANparks and their game rangers, in SANParks vehicles, subject to change and availability on the day. Again, most likely, other guests will join you on this game drive. Children under 6 years of age are not allowed on SANParks open game drive vehicles.
Yet, children are welcome on Kruger Park Tours Safaris and a bush bumble (kiddies game drive) will be conducted after the normal game drive, specifically focused on kids. We do not offer babysitting and thus it is the responsibility of the parents to care for their children. Private family game drives can be arranged at an extra charge.
You are reminded not to book flights leaving from OR Tambo Airport on the last day earlier than 19h00 (domestic) or 20h00 (international). We highly recommend that you rather stay over in Johannesburg on the last day of your Safari. Kruger Park Tours will not be held responsible for reimbursements of missed flight tickets.
Guests flying out of Nelspruit on the last day, should note that depending on flight details, may not have enough time to see the Panorama Route. However, a special Panorama Route with private transport can be arranged, in advance and at an extra charge.
