Our Addo Elephant Park, Garden Route and Cape Town Safari allows guests to explore the Southern and Western Cape. The South African Garden Route is home to both marine & land habitats with many National Parks protecting this rich fauna & flora which is only found in the Garden Route area. From the late 1600’s to modern day, people have always been captivated by beauty and mystery of the Cape, diverse culture and the breathtaking scenery from Table Mountain, the rolling grasslands, Winelands and wide spread conservation areas. Being a malaria free area, the area is an ideal way for families with to see South African Wildlife. Some places included in the diverse itinerary of this tour includes the Hottentots Holland, Outeniqua Mountains, Cape Augulas and Cape Town.
The unique fynbos area includes some African Wildlife species which are rare and only found here, including the Big 5 and so much more! The area the this Cape Town Safari covers is quite diverse in climate, vegetation and wildlife. Including the coastal line of South Africa as well as the semi-desert Little Karoo. Abundant birdlife, marine life (such as Blue whales, who come to our shores to breed, fur seals, African penguins & Great White Sharks) are to be seen on this Safari.
Parks we visit include the Agulhas National Park, Tsitsikamma National Park and the Addo Elephant National Park. The coastline along the Garden Route has a Mediterranean type climate with conditions similar to Cape Town but with rain faling throughout the year so it is very wet and green with winter rainfall.

Vehicles are equipped to provide guests with highest possible levels of safety, comfort and experience. Transfers from and to the airport as well as to and from National Parks will be in a minibus.
Addo Elephant Park,Garden Route & Cape Town Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Cape Town to Agulhas
The first part route takes us along the Coastal Whale Watching Route, through one of the most scenic parts of our country. The Southern Right Whales breed along this coastline between June and November. Departure is from Cape Town between 06h30 – 07h30. We stop en-route in the town of Hermanus to have lunch (at your own expense).
After lunch we head to Cape Augulas (the southernmost tip of Africa). We keep a sharp eye out for the Cape Grysbok in the fynbos or Cape fur seals and Dolphins. We reach the overnight destination and view one of the most spectacular sunsets in the world from the patios of our fisherman’s cottages which are built in view of the ocean.
The tour guide will prepare dinner which will be served al fresco outside your cabins. Wine is served with dinner but guests are welcome to bring along additional / alternative drinks which can be bought at a pitstop. (Dinner included)
Day 2: Agulhas to Tsitsikamma
The route takes you through the scenic regions of the Overberg and Langeberg where you can see fruit orchards and wheat farms on the route. These rolling grasslands boast the endangered Blue Crane, which is South Africa’s national bird. We may be fortunate enough to spot some of these extraordinary birds. Our road trip will be along the world renowned Garden Route and past the coastal towns nestled at the foot of the Outeniqua mountains. Then we will then reach Tsitsikamma, the jewel of the Southern Cape in time for lunch (at your own expense).
After lunch and checking into the accommodation we take a hike to a Waterfall to explore the beauty of the rare indigenous forest and stunning coastline. The Cape clawless otter might be spotted hunting in the streams and surf.
Your Guide will prepare dinner which will be served al fresco outside one of the chalets. A selection of Red or Wine is served at no additional charge with dinner but guests are welcome to bring alternative drinks which can be purchased at a shop en-route (Breakfast, Dinner and wine is included)
Day 3: Tsitsikamma to Addo Elephant Park
In the early morning we take a hike in search of animals such as the elusive Knysna Turaco and depart after breakfast to the world renowned Addo Elephant Park. We travel through forest and plantation to the semi desert region of the Southern Cape with several opportunities to see some of the rare bird species that make this area their home.
After we arrive at the Addo Elephant Park we have a short Game Drive in the closed tour vehicle. We then have lunch (at your own expense) at the main rest camp and check into the chalets. This afternoon you head out on an afternoon game drive, in a SANParks open game drive vehicle. This drive generally takes about 3 hours and tends to extend into the early evening, affording guests the possibility of spotting nocturnal animals.
Your Guide will then prepare dinner which will be served al fresco outside your chalet. Wine is served with dinner but guests are welcome to bring along alternative drinks which can be purchased at the park shop. (Breakfast, Dinner & wine included)
Day 4: Addo Elephant Park
We spend the morning and afternoon exploring the park in the tour vehicle. We search of some great photo opportunities and experiences of the big 5 at its best! Addo Elephant Park offers a unique ecosystem and is home to a huge variety of wildlife, including the Big 5 as well as the Black Backed Jackal, Tortoises and Dung Beetles who have the right of way!
You will then return to the rest camp for breakfast after the morning game drive and have time for a rest break & lunch (at your own expense) before heading on an afternoon game drive.
The tour guide will then prepare dinner which will be served al fresco outside one of the chalets. Wine is served with dinner but guests are welcome to bring along alternative drinks which can be purchased at the shop (Breakfast, Dinner & wine is included)
Day 5: Addo Elephant Park to Port Elizabeth
An early wake-up call (the time varies according to the seasons and park gate opening times) you will have tea or coffee & light snacks such as muffins. Thereafter a morning safari will take approximately 3-4 hours. This park offers a unique ecosystem and is home to a huge variety of wildlife, including the Big 5 as well as the Black Backed Jackal, Tortoises and Dung Beetles who have the right of way!
You will return to the camp for breakfast after which we sadly have to leave the park & head to Port Elizabeth airport where the tour ends around mid-day. (Breakfast included)

This Safari can be extended by one day to include another night in Addo, or by two days to include another night in Addo, as well as a night in the Little Karoo and end in Cape Town. Please consult with your agent regarding these options.
On our safaris, we make use of facilities and accommodation situated inside the National Parks and do not stay outside the Parks, unless forced to do so because of availability.
It is important to note that this is not a private safari and more than likely there will be other guests joining you on the safari.
Please note that sunset game drive times are subject to change and availability on the day. These drives are conducted by SAN PARKS, by one of their rangers and in one of their vehicles. There will most likely be other guests on this drive. Children under 6 years of age are not allowed on SAN Parks open game drive vehicles.
Guests flying out of Port Elizabeth Airport on the last day are reminded to not book any flights departing earlier than 13h00 (domestic) in order to give us enough time to get you to the airport. We recommend that you rather stay over in Port Elizabeth if possible. Since we cannot guarantee our arrival time in Port Elizabeth on the last day we will not be held responsible for re-imbursements of flight tickets, should we arrive later than expected.
