Vehicles used on a Kruger Safari
Kruger Park Tours only use the safest and most luxurious vehicles to transport guests from the airport and within the Kruger National park and surrounding areas. The vehicles allows for great Kruger Safari adventures.
Day 1: Departing from Johannesburg to Kruger National Park
The Kruger National Park is situated in Mpumalanga and established in 1898 for the protection of Lowveld African Wildlife, covering 20,000 square kilometers (7,700 sq mi).
From Johannesburg, early morning you will travel past Witbank and be amazed how the scenery change with its wide open spaces towards the Lowveld area. In Skukuza camp within the Kruger Park we will stop for lunch at your own expense. Thereafter you will be given a change to settle into your accommodation.
SANParks will entertain you with your first game drive at sunset which will A sunset drive affords you the opportunity to see nocturnal African Wildlife. At night the predators are more active, so going on a night drive increases your chance’s of seeing either a pride of Lions on the move or a Leopard out hunting. The Kruger Park’s rangers are allowed to return after the normal gate closing times and your ranger will tell you some really interesting stories along the way. As this is not a not a private game drive and thus other guests may be joining you on this drive.
(Important to note is that children under 6 years of age are not permitted on open vehicle drives)
On your return you will be served a three-course dinner, served al fresco style. Wine is included with dinner and guests are welcome to bring their own additional and/or alternative drinks which can be purchased at the Kruger National Park Shop.
Day 2, 3 and 4: Full day in the Park
Early morning drives leave well before dawn, yet, the time you go on your game drive varies according to the seasons and camp gate opening times. Before you leave on the morning game drive you will be served with coffee, tea, muffins and fruit. It can be cool in the open-sided tour vehicle, even in summer. Take a jacket just in case it gets a bit chilly. In winter, rug up!
You may also choose to join a SANParks game ranger on a morning walk. with a experienced game ranger.
Brunch will be ready on your return and thereafter you can relax within the interesting and diverse Skukuza camp. There is also a large shop, cafeteria, an internet café and restaurant in Skukuza. A scenic walkway runs from the restaurant past the river bungalows. Elephants, Hippos, Buffaloes and Crocodiles are often seen from this walkway, along with smaller animals like Bushbuck, Lizards and Mongoose.
After a midday siesta you can again join us for the afternoon Kruger Park Tours game drive. You can take a drink and a snack to eat on game drives. the open sided vehicles offers you adventurous views of the African Wildlife.
You will end the day with unforgettable food, wine and African Safari stories. Animals active during the night will be the last sounds to hear before drifting into sleep.

Day 5: Kruger Park to Gauteng
A sad stage on your Kruger Park Tours Safari is the last day. But, yet we will still entertain you with a last early morning game drive so that you still have the opportunity to capture those animals not spotted as yet or to take even better photographs than the previous days. After breakfast we will return you to Johannesburg. Just take note that the drive will take 6 hours and it is advised to rather sleep this night in Johannesburg.
Panorama Route (Optional Excursion)
This offer is only available on day two of your Kruger Park Tours Safari, at no extra charge. This activity however replaces the activities for the day and only available if you are staying 3 days or longer. The Kruger National Park Panorama Route is known for its cultural heritage and spectacular landscapes. Breakfast will be enjoyed in one of the small towns en-route (own expense). On offer is a vast array of exciting options such as the Blyde River Canyon, Three Rondavels, Lisbon Waterfalls and God’s Window. Ask our staff on safari, to co-ordinate this for you.

Kruger Park Tours Safaris first and foremost utilizes the facilities and accommodation situated inside the Kruger National Park. In rare cases and due to unavailability, Kruger Park Tours is forced to use outside accommodation.
Kruger Park Tours has permanent accommodation in a camp in Skukuza. The open game drive vehicles are based here as well. Multiple rest camps are available on request.
Note this is not a private safari and thus it is very likely that other guests will join you on the game drives, air-conditioned mini bus as well as in the dining facility.
Also, note that the sunset game drive times are conducted by SANparks and their game rangers, in SANParks vehicles, subject to change and availability on the day. Again, most likely, other guests will join you on this game drive. Children under 6 years of age are not allowed on SANParks open game drive vehicles.
Yet, children are welcome on Kruger Park Tours Safaris and a bush bumble (kiddies game drive) will be conducted after the normal game drive, specifically focused on kids. We do not offer babysitting and thus it is the responsibility of the parents to care for their children. Private family game drives can be arranged at an extra charge.
You are reminded not to book flights leaving from OR Tambo Airport on the last day earlier than 19h00 (domestic) or 20h00 (international). We highly recommend that you rather stay over in Johannesburg on the last day of your Safari. Kruger Park Tours will not be held responsible for reimbursements of missed flight tickets.
Guests flying out of Nelspruit on the last day, should note that depending on flight details, may not have enough time to see the Panorama Route. However, a special Panorama Route with private transport can be arranged, in advance and at an extra charge.
