Day 1: Johannesburg to the Kruger National Park
We will leave from Johannesburg between 06h30 to 08h00. Keep you camera ready at all times because as soon as we leave the busy high ways you will be stunned with the beauty of the South African landscapes. You will see big power generating structures within open spaces when travelling to Nelspruit.
You will enjoy lunch (at your own expense) on route as it is a 6 hour drive to the Kruger National Park. The Highveld section of the route starts in eMalahleni or Witbank , which means ‘Place of Coal’. You will travel past the farming and industrial town of Middelburg. Heading East, the route takes travelers through the mystical, mist-shrouded trout, cattle and sheep farming areas of Belfast and Machadodorp. You will reach the Kruger National Park. and Skukuza Rest Camp in the afternoon.
After the scenic drive you can settle into your Budget Safari Cottage Tent in Skukuza. Thereafter we will take you on a SANParks Sunset Drive which leaves before the sun sets and gets back once the sky is dark. Experienced guides drive the groups that will inform you of all the animals viewed.
We will fill your appetite after the game drive with a three-course meal, wine, camp fire stories of African Wildlife experiences. Additional and/or alternative drinks can be purchased at the Kruger Park Shop in Skukuza.
Day 2, 3 and 4: Full day in the Park
After an early wake-up calls when you still enjoy the comfort of your bed in the Safari Cottage Tent you will leave on your morning Safari game drive. Coffee, tea, muffins and fruit will be served before we leave. The drive will last 3-4 hours. You and other guests set off with your ranger and tracker on an unique morning game viewing experience.
All 5 day Safaris include a thrilling morning walk with a game ranger.
Brunch will be served on your return after that you can enjoy the many attractions of the Skukuza camp such as swimming, the Skukuza Museum, Curio Shop, Restaurant which overlooks the Sabie River. Skukuza is also a bird watcher’s paradise thus bring your binoculars.
Again you will join us for the afternoon game drive. We conduct all our game drives in specially adapted 4×4 open game drive vehicles to allow our guests the best possible vantage point.
We share safari stories at the camp fire under the stars after a three-course al fresco dinner with wine.

Day 5: Kruger Park – Gauteng
As the sun rises over your final day in the Kruger National Park, you have a last chance to find the animals that have eluded us thus far on the morning drive. After you have enjoyed a breakfast we will return you to Johannesburg. The drive back takes at least 6 hours and guests are advised to sleep over in Johannesburg on this night.
Panorama Route (Optional Excursion)
This offer is only available on day two of your Kruger Park Tours Safari, at no extra charge. This activity however replaces the activities for the day and only available if you are staying 3 days or longer. The Kruger National Park Panorama Route is known for its cultural heritage and spectacular landscapes. Breakfast will be enjoyed in one of the small towns en-route (own expense). On offer is a vast array of exciting options such as the Blyde River Canyon, Three Rondavels, Lisbon Waterfalls and God’s Window. Ask our staff on safari, to co-ordinate this for you.

Kruger Park Tours Safaris first and foremost utilizes the facilities and accommodation situated inside the Kruger National Park. In rare cases and due to unavailability, Kruger Park Tours is forced to use outside accommodation.
Kruger Park Tours has permanent accommodation in a camp in Skukuza. The open game drive vehicles are based here as well. Multiple rest camps are available on request.
Note this is not a private safari and thus it is very likely that other guests will join you on the game drives, air-conditioned mini bus as well as in the dining facility.
Also, note that the sunset game drive times are conducted by SANparks and their game rangers, in SANParks vehicles, subject to change and availability on the day. Again, most likely, other guests will join you on this game drive. Children under 6 years of age are not allowed on SANParks open game drive vehicles.
Yet, children are welcome on Kruger Park Tours Safaris and a bush bumble (kiddies game drive) will be conducted after the normal game drive, specifically focused on kids. We do not offer babysitting and thus it is the responsibility of the parents to care for their children. Private family game drives can be arranged at an extra charge.
You are reminded not to book flights leaving from OR Tambo Airport on the last day earlier than 19h00 (domestic) or 20h00 (international). We highly recommend that you rather stay over in Johannesburg on the last day of your Safari. Kruger Park Tours will not be held responsible for reimbursements of missed flight tickets.
Guests flying out of Nelspruit on the last day, should note that depending on flight details, may not have enough time to see the Panorama Route. However, a special Panorama Route with private transport can be arranged, in advance and at an extra charge.
