Itinerary for this Kruger Safari from Johannesburg

Day 1: Your Kruger safari from Johannesbug starts
The Kruger National Park is situated in Mpumalanga and established in 1898 for the protection of Lowveld African Wildlife, covering 20,000 square kilometers (7,700 sq mi).

The standard shuttle will depart promptly around 8h30 AM from Outlook Lodge in Johannesburg, for your Kruger Safari.

We can also transfer to/from other locations, at additional charge as follow:

Sandton, Rosebank and downtown Johannesburg at an additional ZAR 350 per person one way.

Ekurhuleni at an additional ZAR 250 per person one way.

You will travel past Witbank and be amazed how the scenery changes.

These are the wide open spaces leading towards the Lowveld area.

Pick-up at Nelspruit Airport it wil be at 12h00 PM. Please do ensure that your local flight to Nelspruit Airport  lands at 11h30 AM and 9h00 AM for international flights, so that you will be on time for pick-up.

Within the Kruger Park, we will stop for lunch at your own expense. Thereafter you will be given a change to settle into your accommodation.

SANParks will entertain you with your first game drive at sunset, which will A sunset drive (from dusk until well after nightfall). This affords you the opportunity to see African Wildlife at night on your Kruger safari from Johannesburg.

At night the predators are more active, so going on a night drive increases your chance’s of seeing either a pride of Lions on the move or a Leopard out hunting. The Kruger Park’s rangers are allowed to return after the normal rest camp closing times and your ranger will tell you some really interesting stories along the way. As this is not a not a private game drive and thus other guests may be joining you on this drive.

(Important to note is that children under 6 years of age are not permitted on open vehicle drives)

On your return you will be served a three-course dinner, al fresco style. Unlimited wine is included with dinner and guests are welcome to bring their own additional and/or alternative drinks, which can be purchased at the Kruger National Park shop.

Day 2, 3 and 4: Two game drives in Kruger Park

After an early wake-up (6 am), you will enjoy some muffins and fruit with coffee or tea. After this refreshing cup of coffee, you will go on a morning safari drive that takes 3-4 hours depending on the time you leave.

Morning game drive departure varies according to the seasons. Rest camp gate opening times varies depending on the season. It can be cool on the open-sided safari drive, even in summer. Take a jacket just in case it gets a bit chilly, however it can get very hot during the day. Remember your sunscreen, brimmed hat, charged camera and insect repellent (however insects are not a nuisance).

While on your Kruger safari form Johannesburg, you may also choose to join an experienced game ranger on a morning walk. This is only available if you stay longer than 5 days. This activity will depend on the availability, therefore the morning walk does not happen on a specific day.

Brunch will be ready on your return and thereafter you can relax within you interesting and diverse rest camp. There is also a large shop, cafeteria, an internet café and restaurant in you rest camp.

After a midday siesta you can again join us for the afternoon game drive. You can take a drink and a snack to eat on game drives. The open sided vehicles offers you adventurous views of the African wildlife.

You will end the day with unforgettable food, unlimited wine and African safari stories. Animals active during the night will be the last sounds to hear before drifting into sleep.

Pre-bookable. Places visited are Gods Window, Bourke’s Luck, Graskop Gorge and Three Rondavels (Blyde River Canyon). Meal/lunch stop on route (own expense). Alternatively, get finger snacks and afternoon Game Drive.

Day 5: Kruger Park to Gauteng
A sad stage on your Kruger safari form Johannesburg is on the last day. But, yet we will still entertain you with a last early morning game drive so that you still have the opportunity to capture those animals not spotted as yet or to take even better photographs than the previous days. After breakfast we will return you to Johannesburg. Just take note that the drive will take 6 hours and it is advised to rather sleep this night in Johannesburg. You will arrive in Johannesburg between 17h00 PM and 18h00 PM.

Please note that local flight check-in takes 2 hours and 3 hours for international flights. Drop-off at Nelspruit Airport will be at 13h30 PM latest, please book flights accordingly.
