Private Game Reserve Luxury Tented Lodge safari for 4 Days
The Private Game Reserve in Greater Kruger National Park hosts a Luxury Tented Lodge safari. There are no fences between the Private Game Reserve (Balule and Klaserie) and Kruger National Park. This safari is perfect for honeymooners, due to its remote location.
The Safari includes a bush braai (which is a traditional South African meal).
Catering considers all different diets.
Included activities are Bush Walks, various Game Drives (including a Full Day Kruger Game Drive) as well as a highlight of the Panorama Route (Three Rondawels at the Blyde River Canyon).

The Safari pickup is in safe mini air-conditioned minibus from and to Johannesburg. On the Private Game Reserve Luxury Tented Lodge Safari, the best view will be offered to spot the Big 5 in a Open-sided 4 x 4 Vehicle.
Itinerary for the 4 Day Private Game Reserve Luxury Tented Lodge Safari
Day 1 – Johannesburg to an Affordable Game Lodge in a Private Game Reserve
Pick-up for the safari is approximately 09:30am (latest) from OR Tambo or any Johannesburg accommodation. The drive to the Private Game Reserve is 6 to 7 hours in a comfortable air-conditioned mini-van. When guests arrive in the Lowveld pictures of the lovely backdrop can be taken.
The closest Airport is in Hoedspruit (there is a ZAR 500 discount one-way on the Safari Price if pick-up is from this airport). Nelspruit Airport (MQP/KMIA) pick-up is at an additional cost and a four hour drive.
The lodge to overnight on the first night is in a Private Game Reserve in the Hoedspruit Area (Balule).
On the first night of the safari in a Private Game Reserve, guests overnight at an Affordable Game Lodge in the Hoedspruit area. The nights after this is at the Luxury Tented Lodge.
The chalet/suite is equipped with an air-conditioner. Guests enjoy some peace and quiet, or swim in a pool, walk around in the gardens or enjoy drinks at the bar area after arriving at the lodge.
Before enjoying a traditional South African dinner (bush braai) at the Boma (which is at a Marula Tree), go on the first sunset drive game drive.
Day 2 – Private Game Reserve Bush Walk and Game Drive
On this second day of the Safari (after an early coffee and light snacks), drive to the Oliphants River from a Private Game Reserve Bush Walk. Armed and qualified Game Rangers will take guests on this four hour bush walk.
Guests will learn about smaller plants and spoor tracking as well seeing signs of the Big 5. What bubbles up the excitement, is the anticipation, after encountering these beautiful Big 5 animals on foot.
Before being transferred to the Luxury Tented Safari Lodge, enjoy a brunch. At the Luxury Tented Lodge in a Private Game Reserve, you can enjoy lunch at the Lapa and then have a rest. Guests booked at the Luxury Tented Lodge, will swim in a private splash pool or walk around the Lodge.
Go on a three hour Big 5 game drive in the Motlala Private Game Reserve.
After this amazing Big 5 drive guests have dinner and overnight in you air-conditioned luxury suite.
Day 3 – Full Day Orpen Area of Kruger National Park Game Drive
This day is exciting! After breakfast, guests are driven from the Private Game Reserve (on an Open-Sided Safari vehicle) to the ORPEN area of the Kruger National Park. Kruger is a world-renowned National Park. A full day of Big 5 game viewing and bird watching is enjoyed.
Days away from the Luxury Tented Lodge in a Private Game Reserve, will require take-out meals, at guests’ own expense. Eating out is seen as special occasion in Africa, this may take some time. Take-out meals are therefore recommended.
After the experience of this amazing Big 5 drive, guests are returned back to the Luxury Tented Lodge in a Private Game Reserve (Klaserie) for dinner and to overnight.
Day 4 – Private Game Reserve Bush walk and view Three Rondawels at the Blyde River Canyon
On this last day of the Private Game Reserve Safari and before driving back to Johannesburg, an armed Ranger will once again take guests on a one hour early morning Private Game Reserve Bush Walk. There will be searched for some wild animals and the Big 5 for the last time.
After enjoying breakfast at the Private Game Reserve, the awesome Three Rondawels at the Blyde River Canyon is visited (only en route to Johannesburg).
Drop off will be between 17:00 and 18:00 pm.

It is important to note that this is not a private safari and there will be other guests joining the safari.

Airport pickup is between 7:00 – 9:30 am from hotels and guest houses around OR Tambo. Consult one of our travel specialists about where to book pre- and post-accommodation. We also arrange transfers from and to Nelspruit airport (at an additional charge).
Guests flying out of OR Tambo Airport on the last day should not book any flights earlier than 20h00 (domestic) or 21h00 (international) in order to have enough time for flight check-in. We recommend to overnight in Johannesburg before and after the safari. We will not be held responsible for reimbursements of any flight tickets, should the transfer arrive later than expected. Private transfers for guests with early flights can be arranged in advance at an extra charge.
