You will head out with your ranger and tracker for the afternoon game drive through the reserve. You will also stop for a sun-downer drink and will have a chance to stretch your legs as you watch the sun set over the distant peaks of the Drakensberg mountains. As darkness falls, a skilled tracker will scan the landscape with a spotlight which illuminates animals’ eyes. A variety of completely different species can be seen on the night drive. A visit to the Blyde River Canyon, Three Rondavels and God’s Window as part of the Panorama Route could be included as an optional extra when traveling from the Kruger to the Lodge. The Blyde River, reached from Graskop while north a small road leads to God’s Window, from where you will enjoy a wonderful view on the Lowveld. From many well-positioned vantage points one has a view of the 33 km long gorge.

Itinerary

 Day 1: Johannesburg to Kruger Park  

We collect guests early morning in Johannesburg for the 6 hour travel to the Kruger National Park. On route you will be surprised by the scenes. The Highveld section of your journey starts in eMalahleni, which means ‘Place of Coal’ – a name symbolic to the town’s historical and current status as the coal mining capital of the province. You will pass the farming and industrial town of Middelburg, heading East, the route takes travelers through the mystical, mist-shrouded trout, cattle and sheep farming areas of Belfast and Machadodorp. On route we will we stop for lunch (own expense).

After settling into your Dome Tent and exploring Skukuza, you will join us for a SANParks Sunset Drive. The excitement all starts when you climb onto the 4 x 4 vehicle for your first game drive and the ranger explains the rules of an open safari vehicle. You will be accompanied by other quests because this is not a private game drive.

(Children under 6 years of age are not permitted on open vehicle drives)

A three-course dinner will await you at your return. We add some wine, camp fire stories and at your absolute pleasure will be all the night sounds only found on an African Safari.

Day 2: Full Day in the Kruger National Park

In the early morning we will start the day with tea, coffee, muffins and fruit before we leave for the morning game drive which leave at around 04.30 in summer and 05.30 in winter. Experienced guides will inform you throughout the drive about all the animals. The drive will last for 3 to 4 hours and when you return to the park you will be served with brunch.

With a filled stomach you can opt for a siesta, swim, visit to the Skukuza Museum, African Curio Shop, take a walk around the camp, or simply relax on the viewing platform of the restaurant, which overlooks the Sabie River. Once back in Skukuza, brunch will be served after which you will have time to relax around in Skukuza. Skukuza is a shortened word for Sikhukhuza in Tsonga language, meaning new broom. Skukuza was given by the local Tsonga people as a nickname for James Stevenson-Hamilton who was seen as ‘a new broom’, cleaning up poaching in the Kruger National Park. Activities and facilities in Skukuza are diverse and sophisticated like a little city but the animals and plants found both within the camp and in the surrounding areas are exceptional. Bring your binoculars.

The afternoon offers you a game drive with highly experienced guides, giving quests the history and background of the Kruger National Park and detailed information of the animals, trees and plants encountered on the drive. All drives are in specially adapted 4 x 4 open game viewing vehicles to allow the best spotting of animals.

The evening is again ended with a three-course meal, wine, camp fire, interesting other quests, African Wildlife stories and the sounds of the night animals.

Day 3 and 4: From the Kruger National Park to a Private Game Lodge

Throughout the day, it’s likely you will see wildlife around the lodge – Nyala, Monkeys as well as the Big 5. The rest of the day is spent at leisure, relaxing in your room or at the pool. You could also opt for an African Spa Treatment; imagine doing this while viewing Elephants at a a distance.

Twice-daily game drives through the reserve, accompanied by expert guides and trackers, ensure unforgettable Wildlife encounters in the African bush. They will share their extensive knowledge and passion of African Wildlife with you.

Day 1: From Johannesburg to the Luxury Private Game Reserve  

You will start your Safari any time between 06h30 to 08h00 when you will be picked up. The scenic route descends from the Highveld which start at eMalahleni to the Lowveld with spectacular views of the Drakensberg Mountains in the distance. Do not miss any opportunity to capture the memories on this route.

You will enjoy lunch at your own expense on route.

You will be mesmerized not only by the beauty of the landscape but also when entering the Private Luxury Game Reserve. After the long drive you will be warmly welcomed by the game reserve staff and be able to settle and familiarize yourself with your room and surroundings.

The excitement starts when you climb onto the 4 x vehicle for your first game drive and the ranger explains the rules of game viewing from an open safari vehicle. The game drive will take around 3-4 hours. Day 2 and 3: Private Game Reserve in the Greater Kruger National Park area

The day starts with an early wake-up call between 5h00 and 5h30. Tea, coffee and rusks are enjoyed before leaving at first light. While seeing big game is always breathtakingly impressive, there are many other species as well as birds. Halfway through the game drive, there’s a stop for hot drinks and snacks, before returning to the lodge at around 9am for a full breakfast.

Throughout the day, it’s likely you will see wildlife around the game reserve – nyala antelope and vervet monkeys are frequent visitors, though seeing some of the Big Five is also not uncommon. The rest of the day is spent at leisure, relaxing in your room or at the pool. You could also opt for an experience an African Spa Treatment; imagine doing this while viewing Elephants at a a distance.

Twice-daily game drives through the game reserve, accompanied by expert guides and trackers, ensure unforgettable Wildlife encounters in the African bush. They will share their extensive knowledge and passion of African Wildlife with you.

Day 1 – Kruger Park to Durban South Africa safari

With the Kruger Park to Durban South Africa safari we make our journey from Johannesburg through Mpumalanga to the Lowveld and Kruger National Park, through out your journey you will enjoy different types of landscapes. In the afternoon you will be able to join the optional sunset game drive. To book this activity is highly important and your guide will be able to assist you with booking this activity when you depart from Johannesburg.

You will start your tour in Johannesburg, 7 am sharp (as per above given departure dates) at Belvedere Estate Overnight Accommodation.

Day 2 – Kruger National Park

Waking up early in the morning, you will travel to the Kruger National Park to explore a full day of wildlife viewing. The abundance of animals present us with a moment of excellent sightings and the famous Big 5. If you missed the opportunity to book a sunset game drive the night before, this evening there is a second chance for the optional sunset game drive on your Kruger Park to Durban South Africa safari.

Day 3 – Kruger National Park Panorama Route Tour

Guest that have chosen to do a morning walk on the Kruger Park to Durban South Africa safari will enjoy an early start to the day. When leaving later in the morning you will travel to the breathtaking sights of the Panorama route offer a chance to enjoy more of the lowveld than just the wildlife. You will visit the highlights of Bourke’s Luck Potholes, the Three Rondavels and God’s Window before returning to camp in the late afternoon.

Day 4 – Kruger to Swaziland

You will enjoy coffee and rusks to start the day early. You journey takes you through the Kruger to Swaziland on this Kruger Park to Durban South Africa safari. The truck allows you a view of all the wildlife that you encounter on your way South. The route this afternoon winds through the mountains and forests of this landlocked kingdom. Your destination for today is the Ezulwini Valley just south of the capital Mbabane.

Day 5 – Swaziland to Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary

Endless hours of self-guided exploration within the small 4560ha Mlilwane sanctuary are possible due to the relative absence of dangerous game.  This morning our guide will lead us out on a nature walk to explore the “ Nature Trail “ which provides interpretation of historical and environmental information of the area.   Later this morning, we embark on a 2-hour guided walk through the Esijeni community, allowing us a glimpse of life on a day-to-day basis. This interactive experience could involve grinding maize, carrying water, building a wall or washing clothes in the stream.

Day 6 – Isimangaliso, Greater St Lucia

You will enjoy your day at the Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary in Swaziland ‘s oldest Reserve. There will be a morning hike that you will be able to enjoy, due to the reason that there are no more large predators. If you would be interested in doing other activities instead of doing the morning hike, you could enjoy a game drive, mountain biking or a visit to the Chief’s traditional village. This afternoon your journey continues South into the reaches of Zululand, once the realm of the mighty King Shaka who united the Zulu clans. The evening you are treated to a cultural experience where you will learn more of the Zulu traditions and language.

Day 7 Hluhluwe – Imfolozi Game Reserve

Early in the morning you will set out for a game drive in the Hluhulwe Imfolozi Reserve. This reserve is not only home to the white and black rhinos but also the big 5. Returning to our lodging for a siesta, we freshen up for an afternoon boat cruise on St Lucia Cruise estuary

Day 8 – Durban

Your journey ends in the beautiful city of Durban. In the afternoon you will have time to enjoy Durban’s beaches as you relax after a fun filled safari adventure.

Very important is to pay special attention to your passport and Visa needs. You will enter various countries. Please contact your embassy for any information regarding Visas. There are luggage restrictions and travel insurance is also required.

If you are older than 65 years, we do require a doctor’s form to be filled in (indicating that you are fit to travel). This is a standard tour requirement.

Day 1: Cape Town – Hermanus-Cape Agulhas

Your Cape Town safari depart from Stellenbosch to Hermanus on Monday morning. The guest that will be doing the shark cage diving will be picked up extremely early by the diving operators and will be missing the first half of the day. The journey takes us through the coastal road, we will be stopping at Betties Bay to observe the endangered colony of African penguins. You will have the opportunity to experience the seaside resort town of Hermanus. Hermanus will make your Cape Town safari unforgettable with its shops, restaurant, markets and most important the famous Southern Whales during the whale season. The last stop for the day on your Cape Town safari will be Cape Agulhas, the most southern tip of Africa. At Cape Agulhas you will be visiting a viewpoint where the Indian and the Atlantic Oceans meet.

After enjoying a lovely breakfast, you will be traveling over the Outeniqua Mountains pass. You will experience the beauty of the wildlife as you explore Wilderness National Park in canoes. Enjoy the breath-taking view of birdlife and indigenous trees as you paddle down the Touw River, then you will do a 2km hike where you will discover waterfalls and rock pools. Knysna is the next stop on your 3rd day of the Cape Town safari. Here you will have the chance to enjoy the little town’s shops, cutios and waterfront where you will be able to do some shopping. You will then travel to Knysna Heads viewpoint to see the Knysna river and the Indian Ocean. Later in the afternoon you will be able to explore Sedgefield with its spectacular beaches and views.

After you have tested your courage you will be traveling to Tsitikamma National Park, the park contains an individual blend of indigenous forest and beautiful Indian Ocean coastline. Tsitsikamma National Park provides a wide range of activities, including hiking, crossing suspension bridge and swimming. Your Cape Town safari will then take you to Addo and leave the Garden Route behind later the afternoon.

Day 1: Departing from Johannesburg to Kruger National Park
The Kruger National Park is situated in Mpumalanga and established in 1898 for the protection of Lowveld African Wildlife, covering 20,000 square kilometers (7,700 sq mi).

Guests are collected from their accommodations in Johannesburg. The arranged professional pick-up driver will take guests to the shuttle pick-up point. We leave on your Kruger Camping Safari from Johannesburg’s OR Tambo bus terminal building in the early morning at a strict time (6:45 am) or later on (at 11am). A 4 to 5 hour drive takes us down the escarpment and to the scenic Lowveld area en-route to Kruger park. We will stop for lunch at your own expense on route.

Pick-up at Nelspruit Airport will be at 13h15 PM. Please do ensure that your local flight to Nelspruit Airport  lands at 11h30 AM for local flights and 9h00 AM for international flights so that you will be on time for pick-up. Pick-up and drop-off at Skukuza Airport is included (as these flights match the safari times perfectly).

You will go out on your first Game Drive (SANParks Sunset Drive) after settling into your accommodation. Guests taking the 11 am shuttle will have a night drive. This sunset or night drive will reward you with spectacular African wildlife at night. SANParks’s rangers might return after the normal rest camp  closing times and other guests may join this drive.
(Children under 6 years of age are not permitted on open vehicle drives.)

Our game ranger and host will pick you up at reception after the sunset game drive and before the night drive for dinner. A tasty complimentary dinner is included at the restaurant within the Kruger National Park. Guests are welcome to bring additional or alternative drinks to their accommodations, which is available at the Kruger National Park Shop.

Should guests arrive from the 11am shuttle, they will first have dinner before departing on the activity.

The restaurant has a liquor  licence, so you cannot bring your own drinks there. Alcoholic beverages are sold at the restaurant (not included in the package price). The meals that are included in the itinerary are either buffets or set menus. Should the included meals not cover your dietary needs, you may order alternative meals (at your own expense).


Day 2, 3 and 4: Full day in the Park

Early morning drives leave well before dawn, yet the time you go on your game drive varies according to the seasons and camp gate opening times. You will be served with coffee, tea and rusks. It can be cool in the open-sided tour vehicle (some days depending on weather), even in summer. Take a jacket just in case it gets a bit chilly. In winter, rug up!

The start time of your morning drive will depend on rest camp gate opening times (as it differs throughout the year) and you may still be able to see nocturnal animals. April to September, the rest camp gates open at 6:00 am, November to January (4:30 am). February, March and October rest camp gates open at 5:30 am.

You may also choose to join a SANParks game ranger on a bush walk  with as experienced game ranger once during a safari 5 days or longer.

This activity will depend on the availability, therefore the bush walk does not happen on a specific day.

Brunch will be ready on your return to the restaurant and thereafter you can relax within you interesting and diverse rest camp. There is also a large shop, cafeteria and museum.

After a midday siesta you can again join us for the afternoon game drive. You can camp Kruger Park and take a drink or snack to eat on game drives. The open sided vehicles offers you adventurous views of the African Wildlife.

Dinner will be served (catering for various diets). Stories such as predator tension and competition between different species will be shared.  The stars in the night sky are amazing and so are the night sounds of animals.

Guests are allocated R250 per person per night to choose a meal and drinks from the rest camp restaurant menu.

An Optional Panorama Route excursion is included on one of the days.

Places visited are: Gods window, bourke’s luck, Wonder view, Three Rondavels and one of the amazing waterfalls on route (time dependent). Meal/lunch stop on route in Graskop (for your own expense). This excursion must be pre-booked with your safari and is availability dependent.  For guests not wanting to take part in the Panorama route tour, can continue with the standard safari itinerary (afternoon game drive on the said day). Should you participate in this activity, you will start directly after your morning game drive, therefore missing your afternoon game drive.

Day 5: Kruger Park to Gauteng

Rusks and coffee or tea is served early morning.

A sad stage on your Camp Kruger Park safari, is the last day. Yet we will still entertain you with a last early morning game drive, so you still have the opportunity to capture those animals not spotted as yet or to take even better photographs than the previous days.

We will return you to Johannesburg after Brunch. As the drive back takes 6 hours, it is advised that guests sleep over in Johannesburg.

You will arrive in Johannesburg between 17h00 PM and 18h00 PM.

Please note that a local flight takes 2 hours for check in and international flights 3 hours. Drop-off at Nelspruit Airport will be at 13h30 PM latest, please book flights accordingly. Skukuza Airport drop-off according to flight time.

Your tent is equipped with an air conditioner, bed, mattresses, linen, pillows, duvets, electric outlet and light. Ablutions are close by and cleaned daily. For an authentic comfortable camping experience, a stay in an Affordable Luxury Tent is a must.

Itinerary

Day 1: Johannesburg to Kruger Park

You will start early morning. Tea or coffee and rusks will be provided each morning. The morning drive which takes approximately 3-4 hours.

Our knowledgeable game ranger and host will take you on a journey of exploration with impressive viewings of the Big 5, other fauna and flora.

The start time of your morning drive will depend on rest camp gate opening times (as it differs throughout the year) and you may still be able to see nocturnal animals. April to September, the rest camp gates open at 6:00 am, November to January (4:30 am). February, March and October rest camp gates open at 5:30 am.

When you return from the morning drive, buffet brunch will be served at the restaurant. In the afternoon you can leisure around, swim, visit the Museum, Kruger National Park Shop, take a walk around the camp, or just relax at the restaurant some more.

The shop sells African curios, food items and drinks. 5 Things to seek at your Restcamp are the Fruit Bat, Thick–tailed Bush Baby, Warthog, Spotted Hyena and Purple–crested Lourie.

The afternoon game drive again rewards you with highly experienced game ranger who informs clients of the history and background of the Kruger Park Safari, animals, trees and plants encountered on the drive. This will be the best Kruger camping safari ever!

We will return you to Johannesburg after Brunch. As the drive back takes 6 hours, it is advised that guests sleep over in Johannesburg.

You will arrive in Johannesburg between 17h00 PM and 18h00 PM.

Please note that a local flight takes 2 hours for check in and international flights 3 hours. Drop-off at Nelspruit Airport will be at 13h30 PM latest, please book flights accordingly. Skukuza Airport drop-off according to flight time.
